NYC based photographer and director
I am fascinated with the power of storytelling to inspire the collective imagination, starting with a single moment passed down through generations. My documentary approach focuses on creating, not just capturing memories. My couples love working with me for the intimate feeling I bring to the big day, trusting me as their memory curator, framing the visual narrative they look back at.
My artistic approach is refined by my experience and aspirations as a film director/writer. I hold a BFA in Film and TV Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. My recent documentary, Starting Over, was awarded the Lookup.Live grant and featured on the Healthy Screen Habits Podcast, and I am currently in the festival circuit with my narrative short film, Profile, and aspiring to direct my debut feature film sometime in the near future.
What will these photos remind you of?
My Korean is bad as I’m embarrassed to admit. So growing up with a language barrier with my grandfather, I instead came to know him not through conversations, but through stories told through old photographs.
This taught me the power of photography. Not simply as documentation, but as a way of preserving legacy, emotion, and the essence of a person. And in pursuit of the art form, I've found a visual language that connects people through stories.
